Baby boy card and gift box

Well am pleased to say normal service has resumed and after reorganising and removing the bed my craft room is open for business :-)
Before my mum went home I helped her make the mini album which you can find Here and then we made a cute owl gift bag. Made this using one A4 sheet of card and scraps of card, circle nesties, buttons and ribbon from stash and some oddments of paper.

You can find the template for owl bag Here

And I picked up a cute cowboy style bib to go inside

And then today I made a card to go with the bag. Aren't those dies adorable, so pleased I got them at the show

Ingredients used in card - meoples digi x 3 and coloured with promarkers, circle nesties, memory box 'baby clothes' die, memory box 'baby stuff' die and hougie board to score lines on card and raided bits drawers for card scraps for nesties and embellishments

And my new storage unit from Westpoint is now all filled up with Christmas craft goodies and a tray for all my Tim Holtz ideology stash. I love being organised lol.
Will enter this over at Pixies Playground as have been a good girl using my snippets x

Westpoint goodies

Hi all, well where does the time go lately? Been busy at work and home and my mum is here for a visit so craftroom now a bedroom til later.
But have managed to grab some supplies and going to help my mum to make the mini scrap book that I posted last time.
So yesterday went to Westpoint craft show in Exeter with mum and Kelly and her family where I managed to spend a few pennies.
Two of the dies were reduced and pearlised paper and paper pack also reduced and got some sparkle medium to play with also

This stamp was the first thing to make me open my purse and half price

And who can resist storage, was reduced and then my lovely mum offered to pay most of it as my birthday pressie :-)
Am looking forward to filling it up once I have my craft room back again

So hopefully normal service will resume soon x

Mini scrap book

Hi all, think there is a theme running through this post and the last one ie mini projects lol
Anyway first spotted this on Voodoo Vixens blog and was most impressed so thought I would have a go myself.
All you need is a 12 x 12 sheet of card which after finding the original instructions Here I cut and scored and then I inked up with 'stormy sky' distress ink.

Got to work matting and layering and added a fastener using a circle punch, brads and twine

The best bit was adding my photos and sentiments etc. I used Kraft card for the photo mounts.

I did learn making this though to leave photos when printed on glossy card to dry for a while after ruining the first lot!!!

This was a jaunt to Plymouth to see our middle son

And album all closed up. Undecided what I am putting on the front cover at the moment but thinking another photo and title. Will see what hubby thinks and add later in the week

Anyway thanks as always for swinging by my blog and all your fab comments that you leave me x

Mini magazine holder

Hi all, hope you are enjoying your weekend,I know I am :-)
So this is something I made this morning and its so cute as so small.
Made this using one sheet of 12 x 12 card and paper

Tutorial for this can be found Here

It was so quick and easy and brilliant for family house pressies this Christmas and I used up the left over paper to decorate the back of the pad. I will be adding a small diary also.

One tip though that is not in the video is to keep the two off cuts as they are the perfect size template for side pieces of paper which I choose to add to mine.
And I also have had the honour of being highlighted on a blog where I entered my recent snippet cards. You can find me Here so definitely a good weekend.
Off to see what I can make next x

Yep another snippets card

Have got the bug now using up my odd bits of card and papers to make cards and they are easier to make at the moment too

So for this card I used a scrap of watercolour paper to stamp a image using distress markers from the SU 'simply sketched' stamp set. And tried to match the colour of the flower with a scrap of card from my bits drawers. Stamped greeting and added some Kort & Godt pearls.
Right off to add to Di's snippet challenge over at Pixies crafty workshop

Baby boy snippets card

Hi all, well this was a nicer card to make this time. It's for my neighbour who delivered her little chap at home after a rather quick labour!!
So I got to see him when he was only 8hrs old and he's so cute :-)

Stamped the image and baby letters' baby patch elephant' by Woodware onto scraps of different blue card from my bits drawers. Used majestic labels 2 and paper from stash. Sentiment is from the MFT 'grand sentiments' set and I added some Kort & Godt pearls.
Going to enter this into the snippets challenge over at Pixies crafty workshop as determined to use up all those off cut bits of card.
Also I had some happy post today :-)

Not happy to make card

Hi well this is a card I wasn't happy to make as for a member of staff who is leaving to open a tea and cake shop with her mum and she will be missed loads by me and the other staff :-(

So this is one for everyone at work to sign. Ingredients used were one of the stamps from the MFT set ' cupcake cutie' and coloured with promarkers. Used oval nesties, plain and scalloped and card from stash, also memory box 'small pinwheel posie' for the flowers and the Lala Land 'heart banner' die. Paper and gems from stash and a Woodware leaf punch.
Have to say my heart wasn't in this card so looking at it this morning see I could have done better!
Have a good day all x

Needle felted landscape

Hi all, well yesterday I went with Kelly to a felt and fibre exhibition and to catch up with Joan who does needle felting.
This is her most recent piece of work and its stunning, picture doesn't do it justice I am afraid and its enormous in real life.

So once home decided I was going to have a play with my needle felting kit that I already had purchased. So you start with a felt base and then let your imagination run wild

Not too sure of my trees but they are on now

Adding more foliage and poppies

And finally the finished landscape and I have to say I am really pleased with it and look forward to making another one

If you are interested in learning about needle felting and attending a workshop with Joan you can contact her Here

A snippets card

Hi all, just a quick post as off out to a exhibition with Kelly. Going to meet a lovely lady called Joan who does felting and see all the other artists work.
So I had made this card the other week using scraps of card and my new SU pansy punch and matching stamps set and happened to mention it to Amanda at the Bristol craft meet who said I should enter it into the snippets challenge over at
Pixies crafty workshop .

So no whole sheets of card were harmed in the making of this......lol
SU pansy punch, SU flower shop stamp set, only used one from the set to make the flowers and leavers, Swiss dots embossing folder and all card from my scrap drawers and a stamped greeting.

September Tag and WOYWW

Hi all, well now I am back at work with the children, time is certainly flying by and no craft time at mo but I did have a fab time on Sunday at the Playday
So this is my desk from then and you can spy lots of inky goodness, Tim Holtz layering stencils, stains etc. my drink for energy, box contains tissue tape, wipes and phew no sign of the giant cookie I had eaten lol

This is the finished result inspired by Tim 's tag which you can find Here. After attending the afternoon workshop in Coventry with Tim has made me join in the tags challenge for the first time

Ingredients used - stencil paste, layering stencils, distress stains ( mustard seed, peacock feathers and seedless preserves ) . I followed his step by step instructions and added some of my ideology embellishments and chitchat labels to finish off. Loved getting inky especially with the ribbon :-)
Right I am off to link up to WOYWW with Julia and if you haven't heard of if before details are all Here.

A Tip from Timmie and craft meet photos

Hi all, well hope you are all well in blogland,I have had a fab day at the Bristol play day yesterday catching up with friends, lots of chatting, yummy food and even some crafting :-)
Thought I would share a tip with you that Timmie aka Tim Holtz shared with us at the Coventry workshop.
This will stop your glossy accents getting all blocked :-)
All you need is a plastic tag,I found plenty on son's bedroom floor!

Insert in bottle when not in use ( trim according to size of bottle )

Fits neatly inside the lid so able to close still and viola no blocked bottles :-)
Have been using this method ever since and it works

And I would highly recommend the scrubby as your new best friend if like me you get very inky

Before picture - messy alchohol inks

After picture - just add soap and water and hey presto and I think I even converted Noreen and Amanda with it

And finally some photos, Sher took this one and my first thought is twins lol
It's me on the left hard at work and Kelly busy colouring

L to R is Noreen, Jackie and Sue

And Tracy and June both looking very crafty

L to R is Kelly, Jane and Amanda
Forgot to get one of Amanda with her latex gloves on lol

L to R Amanda, Sher, Noreen, Jackie and Sue

It was a small group this time but according to Jackie's decibel meter on her phone we were just as noisy lol
Will be back tomorrow to share my tag I made x

Happy Birthday Fiona

Hi all, well hope all is well in your world today. This card is for a work colleague and I had another go with the 3d decoupage.

And also went a bit mad with the stickles on the cake but you can see the raised bits better on this close up

Stamped Wildrose Studios 'bees with cupcakes' several times and coloured with promarkers and then selected different sections of stamp to cut out and 3d. Used labels 8 nesties, AnnaMarie designs 'spotty' card, Dovecraft 'back to basics' paper and gems and letters from stash.
Well slowly coming down from the ceiling after my adventure last week, pics and details below :-)
Off to do some blogging x

WOYWW - a rather special desk with Tim Holtz

Hi all, well I haven't joined in WOYWW for ages due to being busy at work or having a tidy desk lol. But am stuck home today waiting for a new cooker. So thought I would show you my home desk and my fave desk of all the one I was at when I attended the Tim Holtz workshop in Coventry last week.
So this is my desk which I shared ready for action

And yep now we are talking crafty lol half way through making my tag book and what can you spy? I have to say I am now hooked on the distress stains. We were given so many goodies to play with and use in our tag books and even more at the end

And of course I had to have my pic taken with Timmie aka Tim Holtz and look at our smiles and the matching shirts weren't planned...lol....honest

My completed tag book which I adore

And last but not least sorry Tim but Mario just happens to be my favourite and when he knew me well that made my day lol

And I also had the pleasure of meeting the lovely BJ who I first met via WOYWW

And finally this is my desk at home, shock, horror, started last night to churn out a few tags for a craft meet on Sunday, was brave enough to leave over night as need to diecut a few more today. I got the Tim Holtz cargo stencil dies and they are just fab

So that's it for me,will spend the day hopping around your blogs, cutting more tags, doing paperwork and hopefully stroking a shiny new cooker. If you want to see more pics of my Tim Holtz adventure have a look Here and Here.
Right off to and link up at Julia's over at Stamping Ground

Completed tag book from Tim Holtz workshop

Hi all, well I had a fun time Sunday finishing off my tag book with photos from the workshop and embellishments.
So this is the tags i had done at the workshop all inky and ready for action

Using my new alpha tiles

Getting down to some creating

The little tags go over the pics with journaling underneath and yes it does say smitten as I was :-) Sandra had to pick me up of the floor lol

My signed apron which is hanging in my craft room

The lovely Tim,and I adore the wishbone on a safety pin

Some of the tags were interactive and you could flip them up, really easy to make using half a tag and tissue paper

My shopping list has grown since this workshop :-)

Think the embellishments just make the tag book pop

Yep even Sandra was messy and the cardigan stayed white!

And Angie proudly showing off her tag book with Mario next to her

Lots of smiles that day and lots to remember :-)

Yep worn out, been a long day and the excitement leading up to to also but so worth it

And my fave pic of the lot, going to get this one framed

And so much attention to detail in his workshop

My finished tag book which i will always treasure

So that's it,feel quite sad now but don't worry got some new goodies coming my way so shall have my own adventure in the craft room x
