Tim Holtz workshop

Hi all and what a whirlwind I have had the last few days! But they were good ones. Travelled up to Coventry with my good buddy Sandra involving a car, four trains, four train stations and two taxi's to attend the long awaited workshop.
On arrival we met up with BJ who I met in blogland.

And we had a chance to look around, grab a drink and nosey around the shop and meet of course Tim and Mario before the workshop :-)

And I passed on a little pressie via Mario

And also the lovely Dyan

And so next down to business and this was our table ready for action

And we were all given a apron to keep which I promptly went and got signed as it would have been rude not too lol

And the fun began, Tim is a taskmaster but so fun and enthusiastic about his art and him and Mario were so helpful and the ladies from Personal Impressions who organised this were lovely and we had the table at the front :-)

Sandra, Jackie and Sue getting ready to craft

We had so many goodies to use to make our tags

Yes I was getting messy and crafting

And Sandra was so brave wearing white lol

Ad of course we needed help from Mario :-)

And look at Angie's smile

My finished book and phew I was worn out

L to R are Jackie,Sandra, Sue, Me and Angie

And all the above ladies and the lovely BJ and Sue I can still see you lol

And this has to be one of my fave pics as its all those special peeps of mine

And once we had finished making our tag book and getting over the shock of being given so many yummy goodies also to keep from making the project

They presented us all with these fab goodies, a fab messenger bag to hold our goodies,a signed copy of his book and a scrubby to get clean

And of course it would have been rude not buy something and am looking forward to playing with them

And finally my tag book which I so adored making and using all the fab embellishments and getting inky

A quick glimpse of inside, need to print of my photos and add and finish embellishing with all my goodies

And me and Sandra finished off the day in the bar before crashing out in our hotel room

So that was my big adventure, can't quite believe it was real and still on a high.x

Trio of cards

Hi all, well I had my friend Kelly come round to craft today and I managed to make three cards in between chatting and sharing our news.

Used two sets of stamps and a matching die for these cards - This one and this one and used memento dew drop inks. The top card was made following a Video tutorial as its a pattern building set and not used them before.
Well of to sort some tea out now, not sure what yet as my oven died on me yesterday whilst cooking a roast! Have a good evening x

Early morning card

Now when do you find your creativity is at its peak? I tend to craft better if I can get in the craft room early or else other things distract me like housework, blogging and exploring the Internet or paperwork.
So this morning hit the craft room early and this is the finished result.

Ingredients used - Stampin Up 'perfect blend' stamp coloured with promarkers this time. Used 1st Edition 'summer breeze' papers. Card and flowers from stash. Woodward punch for leaves and marianne sentiment die.

Made this for my cousin so shall need to post soon. Hope you all have a enjoyable bank holiday weekend x

A couple of cards and Eden project

Hi all, hope you all are well. I have been busy entertaining as my mum who came down from Slough and middle son come up from Plymouth for a visit and catch up so craft room became bed room.
Anyway these are two cards I made on the day before they came but not had a chance to blog.

Used my distress markers to colour in the stamp from Stampin Up 'you are loved' set. Labels 8 nesties and Stampin up embosslits 'beautiful wings' die. Used the Couture Creations 'bouquet' embossing folder on card from stash and added some pearls to the wings.

Stamped cupcake in different memento dewdrop inks in a row and stamped greeting below. I was naughty and cut the greeting and cake apart so could be more versatile and then stamped my own background. Added ribbon and gems from stash.

We all went to the Eden Project on the Friday and though it started off misty and wet the sun soon came out and had a lovely day.

It was so warm in the tropical Biomes that we were melting but a amazing array of plants and so many butterflies.

And can you spot the lizard?

And the flowers were absolutely gorgeous.

Using my distress markers

Hi all, well seems that time is speeding fast and from last Thursday don't seem to have stopped!
Went to a felt workshop with Sandra and what a laugh, its so addictive too. We both made felt roses and looking forward to the next one. Will add a pic to my next post as on my way out the door to work.
Yep went back to work Monday but at least its only part time til September!
Anyway had a go at following a distress marker tutorial yesterday and this is the result.

Thought I would start out simply and really enjoyed blending the colours on the coffee cup. Tutorial can be found Here
I used stampin up 'perfect blend' image stamped with archival ink and coloured using pumice stone, old paper and brushed corduroy distress markers. MFT graduated dots stencil and peeled paint distress ink pad for the background and that's it, one quick and fun card to make.

To say thanks

Hi all, thought I would post the card I made for my hubby to say thanks as he has been a super star and looked after me when not well.

Ingredients used - The cats pyjamas ' wheel love ' coloured with promarkers, labels one nesties, stampin up 'modern label' punch. Card, letter beads, clip
and paper from stash. Twine from American Crafts. Have noticed card is rather on the slant lol

Well back is lots better and I am off to a felt workshop with Sandra today and also explore some shops. Hope you all have a super day x

A quick card

And I mean quick......lol
Missed out last week on a birthday lunch due to bad back so finally made the card and popped it around yesterday with some belated flowers.
Have to say even though it was a quick card I enjoyed making this one and can see the style being used in different ways.

Ingredients used - Creative Expressions ' delicate frame' and matching stamp stamped in memento ink ' morocco' and used labels one nesties. Card has a sparkle to it though hard to see in pic but got from Annamarie Designs at a show. To get the stamped greeting to fit label size I masked each word and then stamped below each other. Ribbon from papermania and pearls are Kort & Godt.
Nipped into work early today to check the messages and collected the registers to fill in ready for the next term, this will keep me out of mischief for the rest of the week.

Something a little different

Well been itching to have another go at this method for a while, tried once and gave up! After seeing the gorgeous cards made by these talented ladies
Debby
And
http://sendingyoualittlesmile.blogspot.co.uk/
This is my attempt

So stamped my Whimsey stamp 'monkey toes' 5 times and coloured in. Following the tutorial on both the above blogs only coloured using promarkers on parts that did not join.

Then had to fussy cut the coloured pieces and edged with a grey promarker

Embossed the cut out pieces using ball tool and mouse mat though think I need to be lighter handed! Adhered to image using pin flair glue.

Close up of the raised pieces - such big feet lol
Very different to decoupage I have done in the past but certainly more time consuming as deciding what bits to colour and cut out so pleased I started with a simple image
Ingredients used - whimsey stamp, promarkers, pin flair glue, nesties labels 1 and small set. Stamped greeting, card and paper from stash. Ribbon made on bow maker as I am useless at these and added a Dazzler.

Trio of cards and some goodies

Hi all, happy Saturday.
Well thought you might like to see these cards I had started making on Monday before I done my back. Finished them off and pleased to say getting there with the back just being extra cautious.

New home card for Sher who moved yesterday

Driving test card ready for son's girlfriend

Sympathy card for a fellow crafter who sadly lost her sister recently

And my first trip out of the house yesterday to get a ink pad but somehow other items had to be brought :-)
The pic doesn't do the Dazzlers justice, they are so sparkly.
Just yell if you need any details on the items used on cards but need to catch up with the housework not been able to do today.x

A challenge from Sandra

Hi all,did you miss me......lol
Not only did I decide I needed a chest infection, on Monday after happily making cards in my craft room went outside and moved the emptied recycle boxes and put my back out!! Have to say from then on until Wednesday I was a right miserable git with the pain. Was a relief to wake up this morning and almost feel normal!
Anyway slowly getting back into normal life or as normal as can be :-)
Anyway Sandra told me to make a Christmas card and when I asked what style she replied 'classy'.
So what do you think?

Will I get the gold star.......lol

I used Stampin up 'Christmas deer' which I embossed with gold tinsel, cut out using Decorative labels 8. Card and ribbon from stash and stamped greeting from Papermania urban stamps ' Christmas in the country' and then punched out using the Stampin up 'modern label' punch.
Will add soon the two cards I had made Monday before disaster struck! Was good to be back in the craft room. Have a good evening all x
